Disease Nature

Alcoholism is an illness, a progressive disease, which cannot be cured, but likes some other illness can be cured. According to the American Psychiatric Association, Alcoholism is a disease combined with physical sensitivity and mental obsession for alcohol.

The alcoholic can never do “CONTROLLED DRINKING”. He has to keep away from the first drink. Implies that the alcoholic should maintain a complete distance from alcohol altogether.
